David Lennon from Westport had a 9lbs7.5ozs fish from the Boat Point on Finlough on a Collie Dog. Apparently the take was a classic with the fish jumping clean out of the water and down on the fly. Dave duly kept his cool and waited a couple of seconds before lifting the rod and feeling that glorious weight on the end of the line.
This morning Paul Shalvey started his week in great style with a 6lbs2ozs sea liced fish from Gough’s bay on Finlough. The fish was taken on a Green Francis cone head.
We had plenty water in the last 24 hours with 41.1mms this morning and plenty since. Doolough was out of order this morning and the river rose to 90, so there should be plenty of water for a day or two!!
Finally I must apologise to Angus Sutherland whose fish was actually 11lbs8ozs and not 11lbs3ozs as previously reported and included is a picture of Angus and his fish. D.McEvoy
