Salmon have definately become more active in the last week with some very good catches. Last Saturday we had one fish on a Cone headed Francis. The fish was taken from Duffers Run of all places and weighed in at 4lbs.

The Westropp family arrived on Saturday and hit the ground running on Monday with 4 fish off Finlough all on Willie Gunn. George had two, one of 4lbs13ozs and one of 6lbs8ozs.His son, Edward had two also one of 4lbs2ozs and one of 8lbs9.5ozs.

Tuesday we had six fish, three off Fin, two off Doo and one off the River. Jack Browne had two off Fin in the morning, both on a Collie Dog, one of 3lbs6ozs and one of 6lbs. Edward Westropp had one also off Fin of 5lbs9ozs on a Connemara Black. Heribert had a 6lbs fish off the Kings Pool on a Collie Dog. Jack Browne had another, off Doolough on a Silver Stoat weighing in at 3lbs. Sean Moogan also had one off Doo of 3lbs on a Delphi Collie.

Wednesday we had two fish off the river. Joe Senders had one of 5lbso.5ozs off the Quarry pool on a Collie Dog. Elizabeth Birdthistle landed her first ever salmon of 3lbs10.5ozs on a Collie Dog off the Turn Pool.

Yesterday we landed 6 fish, 5 off Finlough and 1 off Doo taken by Jack Browne on a Silver Stoat weighing in at 5lbs. The Finlough fish were as follows; Kit Westropp had one of 6lbs7ozs on a Collie Dog. His father George had one on a Willie Gunn of 5lbs. Christian Fortune another of the Westropp party had his first ever of 5lbs2ozs on a Connemara Black.

That now brings the season total to 470 to date. We have another week to break the 500!!
