Unlike mainstream hotels who have a ‘conveyor belt’ approach to weddings we can offer an experience that is genuine, warm, and unique that will remain in the minds and hearts of your family and friends as a truly special few days and a highlight in your relationship with all who attend. As well as summertime, for couples thinking of getting married in Spring, Autumn and Winter Delphi Lodge is the perfect location. We are ideally suited to hosting small to medium sized weddings. The lodge can be fully booked for exclusive use for a minimum of two days. We also have self-catering cottages available for any additional guests.
The lodge itself has a very special atmosphere and ambiance. The log fires are kept burning day and night. The bedrooms are large old world and very comfortable and have breathtaking views of lakes and mountains. A comfortable library, snooker room and a renowned wine cellar all make for the perfect location to share these precious few days with friends and family that only an old historic country house can provide.
The maximum number of guests that we can accommodate in our dining room is 40. The price per night, bed & breakfast including dinner starts at €170 per person. To experience the full Delphi atmosphere we recommend a stay of minimum 2 nights, preferable 3 nights.
The chefs and cooks are at your disposal for whatever choices you make for dining at Delphi over the two days or so. They will work with you in advance to cover all your guest’s requirements for lunch and dinner. Only top quality fresh produce is used in our kitchen and the very best of local shellfish is readily available on our door step from Killary fjord.
For the all important wedding photo’s the grounds around the lodge provide the most perfect settings you could imagine. There are river side walks, waterfalls and various lake shore locations. The surrounding mountains and woodlands offer a background unchanged for thousands of years and a peacefulness and isolation that very few places in Ireland have managed to hold onto. There is a large lawn area in front of the lodge that offers an ideal foreground to the lodge itself and of course if required row boats are available for our wedding couples for photographers with an eye for something different.
Whilst staying with us some of your guests may be interested in some of the activities we can provide. This might mean some fly fishing lessons, tutored clay pigeon shooting or guided hill walking. For evening entertainment we can recommend some excellent local traditional musicians or for the more energetic we can organise a late night disco.
From the point of view of all the staff at Delphi Lodge it is important to let you know that we really enjoy hosting weddings. They represent for us, not being a main stream hotel, very special occasions on which the whole Delphi team gets fully involved and gives his upmost to make this special occasion for you the very best it can possibly be.
Delphi Lodge Houseparties
Delphi Lodge is a superb place for a private houseparty. Take the whole house and fill it with friends or family – all at surprisingly affordable prices. Birthdays, anniversaries – any excuse for the ultimate luxury party. Dress up or dress down. Enjoy the fabulous food, the great atmosphere, the stunning scenery and the total tranquillity of the Delphi Valley. The Lodge is available on a fully staffed and catered basis except for Christmas and New Year (when it is available on a self-catering basis only). All you need to do is find a minimum of 18 people for at least two nights with dinner each night. The whole house and full staff are then all yours. And you can steer the dinner menus towards your favourite foods.
The maximum capacity is limited by the size of the huge dining table, which seats up to 40 people. The Lodge has 12 double rooms, sleeping 26 to 28 people comfortably. But larger parties can spill over into the Delphi Cottages. Delphi Lodge is almost tailor-made for country houseparties. Big log fires, long walks on the beach or in the hills, hot whiskeys, a great library, a snooker room and a very good wine cellar. It all makes for the most special, and intimate experience. Exclusive use of Delphi Lodge may be arranged for as little as €340pp for parties of 18 or more taking 2 nights with 2 dinners.
