Spectacular Fin Lough
Of the Delphi lakes, Fin Lough (Bright Lake) is the most popular and prolific. Overlooked by Delphi Lodge, this picturesque lake is mostly quite shallow and can produce a fish just about anywhere. Fin Lough offers excellent salmon fishing throughout whole season.
In the summer months, sea trout may be caught at Delphi, although stocks of these wonderful fish are volatile, being vulnerable to parasites from salmon farming. Sea trout must be released alive.
Fishing normally rotates on a half-daily basis between the river and the two main lakes. Lake fishing is from boats with maximum two fishers per boat. Ghillies (guides) are available. Tackle and wet gear may be rented.
“One of the most beautiful little fisheries I’ve seen in my life…The last really wild part of Ireland.” JACK CHARLTON, ‘SALMONRUN’
