Daily guided excursions
At Delphi Lodge, we offer our guests a variety of daily guided excursions in the most stunning Connemara surroundings.
The rivers and lakes of the Delphi valley drain into Killary Harbour, which is a long, deep inlet from the Atlantic and is indeed a true fjord. The Killary is a substantial producer of high quality mussels and local fishermen catch fresh lobsters all along its rugged, steep coastline. From June onwards mackerel shoals begin to frequent the inner parts of the Killary, feeding on the hatches of fry and sprats that take place from late spring onwards.
Provided the weather is not too rough, we can offer a delivery of the above mentioned fish and shellfish to your cottage, fresh from the seas. Just contact Carole in reception at the lodge to arrange your choice (Ext.100).
