The Delphi Cottages

There are five delightful holiday cottages on the Delphi estate. These little holiday cottages are very popular with those who prefer a more independent, self-catering approach to holiday accommodation.

The cottages, which are just a short walk away from Delphi Lodge, have all been beautifully restored in recent years.

THE BOATHOUSE COTTAGE

A charming L-shaped terrace of four two-bedroom holiday cottages derives from an attractive conversion of the old “keeper’s house” and the adjacent Delphi boathouses.

With old pine furniture, large open fireplaces and stone floors downstairs, these fine old houses have a charming air of tradition and cosiness. But they also have all the requirements of modern living including a well-equipped kitchen, comprehensive heating, a shower and a bathtub, comfortable sofas & chairs, a large airing cupboard and full carpeting upstairs.

Two of the Boathouse Cottages sleep up to 5 people with a triple room (double bed & single) and a twin room (two single beds). The other two Boathouse Cottages are a little smaller and sleep up to 4 people in a double room and a twin room.

WRENS COTTAGE

This recent addition to the Delphi cottage portfolio has been beautifully restored and overlooks Finlough and Mweelrea mountain. Facing west, it often gets spectacular sunsets.

Larger than the Boathouse Cottages, Wrens holiday cottage has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, all at ground floor level. The master bedroom, with ensuite bathroom, features a super kingsize double bed. The other bedrooms each have twin single beds. The bathrooms have power showers and bathtubs.

The kitchen is well-equipped with an oil-fired Rayburn stove, electric hob, microwave and washing machine. The sitting room has a large open fireplace and, for news addicts, satellite TV. There is comprehensive central heating throughout.

All the Delphi Holiday Cottages are attractively located in this valley of staggering beauty. The local wildlife, featuring otters, badgers, pine martens, peregrine falcons and myriad wild flowers, is exceptional.

The cottages, being surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the west of Ireland, are also popular with hill-walkers, artists and those in search of a quiet hideaway.
