Getting to Delphi
From Galway (c.70-90 minutes)
- Head northwest on N59 towards Clifden.
- Pass through Moycullen & Oughterard.
- 10-15 minutes after Oughterard, turn right at Maam Cross, at Peacocks.
- 5-10 minutes later, turn left at T junction in Maam.
- 10-15 minutes later fork right in Leenane towards Westport.
- 2 miles out of Leenane, turn left to Delphi/Louisburgh.
- Road runs along north shore of Killary Harbour. Delphi Lodge is 6 miles from junction, ½ mile after Adventure Centre/Spa, in woods on left.
From Westport (c.35-50 minutes)
(a) Either via N59 (c.35-40 minutes)
- Head southwest on N59 towards Clifden.
- After 8 or 9 miles the road runs along beside the Erriff River.
- After river becomes invisible due to roadside rhodedendrons (about 15 miles/25 minutes out of Westport), take next right, signposted “Delphi” and “Louisburgh”.
- Delphi Lodge is 6 miles from junction, ½ mile after Adventure Centre/Spa, in woods on left.
(b) Or via Louisburgh (c.40-50 minutes)
- Head west on Louisburgh road along south shore of Clew Bay.
- Pass through Louisburgh and then turn left towards Leenane.
- 10 miles/20 minutes later, you pass Doolough Lake on your right.
- Delphi Lodge is in woods on right, ½ mile after Doolough.
From Dublin (c.4 to 5 hours)
- Follow N4 then N5 towards Mullingar (bypassed) then Longford > Ballaghaderreen > Charlestown > Castlebar > Westport.
- From Westport, see above instructions.
From Shannon (c.2½ to 3 hours)
- Follow signs to Galway via Gort.
- From Galway, follow directions above.
